Sara writes high fantasy and contemporary romances with strong female characters.
She started her writing journey on a lime green Mac desktop in the “computer room” of her childhood home. Between illegally downloading the latest hits (and only a few viruses) on Limewire, she discovered the joy of creating exciting worlds and loveable characters. Then, she accepted the grave responsibility of every author – making those loveable characters squirm.
When she isn’t writing, Sara knits (badly), plays tennis (also badly), and annoys her husband with plot ideas.

What do you write?
I am working on two different series right now. One is a light-hearted contemporary fantasy romance set in the North Carolina mountains. The other is high fantasy and takes place in a fictional world full of war, magic, and political ambition.
You said you write strong female characters. What does that mean?
Strong female characters, to me, are characters written like the women I know and love. Women who are complex, who have thoughts, feelings, wants, and goals outside of romantic relationships.
Do you use AI?
No. I don’t use AI to write, edit, or create cover art.
